14U News and Updates
Coaching Staff
John Daly (Head Coach)
John joined the Magic in 2010 when his oldest daughter started playing 10U. Prior to starting his current team, he coached at all age groups, 10U-18U, in recreational and travel. Additionally, he is the head coach at Saint John Paul the Great High School in Dumfries, VA, where he helped coach the team to their first state playoff appearance. John is honored to be a Magic coach, supporting such a respected and highly successful organization.
Johnny Castillo (Asst. Coach)
20 years on Woodlawn Little League Board – (simultaneously) -10 years on the Mount Vernon Patriots Travel Baseball Organization Board (5) V.P and (5) President – Diamond Sports Youth Athletic Coach/Manager every age group from 3 yrs (kickball) to18u baseball and softball both house and travel.
Maggie Daly (Asst. Coach)
Kristin Wilson (Asst. Coach)
Kristin grew up playing softball in Northern Virginia and her love for the game transitioned into a love for coaching. This is her second year coaching for the Mount Vernon Magic but she has coached since her daughter started playing at 8U. She loves working with the girls and other coaches and feels incredibly blessed to be associated with such a well respected organization as the Mount Vernon Magic.
Emily Plummer (Asst. Coach)
Emily played several sports in high school, including softball. She played club sports in college, and on recreational teams as an adult. Emily has been a softball coach for 10u-18u teams since 2020, and especially enjoys helping girls build their skills and self-confidence, engage in teamwork while developing a healthy winning attitude, and being a positive role model. This is Emily’s first year with the Magic.
